Our lab conducts research across a broad range of artificial intelligence and machine learning topics, largely those that pertain to the Web and Web-related data. Over the years, our work has explored Explainable AI, Recommender Systems, Bias & Fairness, Natural Language Processing, and more recently, Disaster AI and Agentic AI.
Across these areas, we are interested in developing AI systems that are not only capable and adaptable, but also interpretable, trustworthy, and responsive to the needs of the people who use them. Our research spans both foundational methods and practical applications, with an emphasis on understanding how intelligent systems learn, make decisions, interact with users, and operate in real-world settings.
